“I’m Lo Stewart and at Winnowing Basket, I produce everyday items with contemporary Owens Valley Paiute designs. This company has been years in the making—starting with a small beadwork business as a child alongside my dad and granma at their pottery shows, then shirts and sweatshirts I made for myself in high school and college, before slowly starting to learn about textiles to improve my hobby of design, and then a realisation that there has been a lack of indigenous owned, indigenous designed clothing brands in the market that my work was meant to fill.
