“Jeaneen Lone Hill is an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe of Pine Ridge, SD. She currently lives in Minnesota. She has been beading and doing artwork since childhood. She was raised by her grandmother and grandfather in Pine Ridge where she first started learning from her grandmother, who was a star quilt maker and did beadwork to supplement her family’s income. Her grandmother was known for her blend of color in her quilts and beadwork in which Jeaneen carried with her into her own beadwork. Jeaneen has spent her life working in chemical dependency, fetal alcohol syndrome, research projects, and as a consultant. She is now retired and spends full time plus some beading for gift shops, stores, museums, and individuals.”
